Following on from the rejection of the previous A Scale pay offer in May, the GMB conducted a workplace ballot of British Airways employees on an A Scale Contract with a revised pay offer.
The new offer is as follows:
- 2016 – Year 1: Basic Pay increased by 2%, backdated to 01/01/16
- 2017 – Year 2: 2.5% or RPI (as at 31/12/16), whichever is higher, effective 01/01/17
- 2018 – Year 3: 2.5% or RPI (as at 31/12/17), whichever is higher, effective from 01/01/18
This new offer is no longer contingent on the company meeting targets
The workplace ballot was conducted between 26th September and 9th October 2016. It included all British Airways branches of the GMB Union.
- To ACCEPT – 88%
- To REJECT – 12%
Turnout for Branch x54 is 45%
