LGBT – GMB Shout!

GMB Shout! is a group of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and trans members of the GMB – Britain’s General Union. We support LGBT GMB members who may experience problems at work surrounding their sexuality. We also aim to provide a safe forum where LGBT members can come together to talk about issues of concern to them, and to network with other LGBT members. We also challenge negative attitudes towards LGBT people and lobby for, promote, progress and publicise LGBT rights in the workplace and in local, regional, national and international campaigns.

We have already had successes in advising members and shop stewards, in campaigning, recruitment and assisting a number of other LGBT organisations.

GMB Shout! is expanding throughout the GMB regions. For London Region members who are interested in getting involved in this fast-growing network or in being part of our confidential e-mail group, we can be contacted by telephone or our new e-mail address.

E-mail: gmbshout@hotmail.co.uk

Confidential Telephone number: 020 7801 2780

GMB Shout! gives complete assurance that we will not reveal your identity or sexuality.

If you wish to be kept up-to-date or, become involved with GMB LGBT issues, have someone to talk to confidentially about work related LGBT issues or wish to find out more, then please do not hesitate to contact us via any of the above.

Hope Not Hate

GMB campaigns to defeat the British National Party (BNP). Wherever the BNP stands candidates in elections whether it’s council elections or Parliamentary elections, GMB will campaign against the far right.

The BNP seeks to appear moderate and respectable but IT IS NOT. Scratch the surface and you will find that the BNP is the same old racist political organisation that it always was.

GMB runs co – ordinated national and regional campaigns wherever organisations like the BNP and the English Defence League raise their racist/fascist views and wherever the far right are standing in any election.

Go to www.hopenothate.org.uk and sign up to the campaign.
