From 12th September to 26th September the GMB conducted a postal ballot of its members employed by British Airways on a HCS 2012 contract.

The company offered the following:

A two year pay deal –

  • 2016 – 2.5% rise in base pay (shift pay to remain as today). Backdated to 1st January 2016.
  • 2017 – 2.9% base pay or RPI (whichever is greater, as RPI in December 2016). Shift pay to remain as today.

Ballot Result:

  • To ACCEPT the offer – 89%
  • To REJECT the offer – 11%

Total spoilt ballots – 0

Turnout – 34%

British Airways have been informed and the back dated payments should be made in time for October’s pay.
