Furloughing (Update 16)

In Coronavirus by GMB x54 Communications

You may already be in receipt of an email from the company as the furloughing process is due to start tomorrow (4th April 2020). Some 70% of staff will be furloughed immediately.

The process will be done at random so there will be no choice about whether you are furloughed or not. If you are in the 30% of staff not furloughed you will work for 3 weeks and then be furloughed as a further 30% of staff are brought back. This will keep rolling on.

If you have any issues with being furloughed or not furloughed (ie partners not being furloughed together or anyone self-isolating) then you will need to speak to your PDM.

Any booked leave during your furlough period will go back into your leave pot.

A lot of your fellow GMB reps will be furloughed during this period so our duty rep service in the terminals is likely to change. We currently will continue to monitor our duty rep mobile, email and online services (website/social media and email communications). We will communicate with you should this change.

As always our most up-to-date information is available on our website gmbinba.org/heathrow or via our email newsletters.

Yours in solidarity

Your GMB x54 Reps
